  1. Code of Ethics

We ask that you abide by this Code of Ethics when giving intuitive, psychic or mediumship information, messages, healings, readings, etc.

  • I will serve the best interests of my clients, conducting my professional activities without causing or intending to cause harm.
  • I will treat all my clients with equal respect, regardless of their origin, race, religion, gender, age, or sexual preference.
  • I will represent honestly my applicable qualifications, including educational credentials and levels of certification.
  • I will keep confidential the names of clients and all information shared or discussed during readings, unless otherwise requested by the client, or given permission by the client, or required by a court of law.
  • I will recommend clients consult a licensed professional for advice of a legal, financial, medical, or psychological nature that I am not qualified to provide. If trained in one of these areas, I will clearly differentiate between the reading, message, or intuitive information and any professional advice additionally provided.
  • I will respect my clients’ rights to refuse or terminate their reading or healing at any time, regardless of prior consent.
  • I will frame all information in a positive and life-affirming perspective.
  • I will never diagnose medical or psychological conditions or prescribe medications.
  • I will never suggest that a client change or end dosages of substances prescribed by licensed health care providers or suggest the client change prescribed treatment or interfere with the treatment of a licensed health care provider.
  • I will never inform clients that my services provide a cure or that they are a substitute for care by a licensed health care provider.
  • I will refrain from touching clients unless I am properly licensed by the state of Florida to do so, and have provided to Victoria Ackerman a current copy of my active state license prior to rendering my service to clients.

Please remember that readers, healers, and message bearers are not qualified to give medical advice unless you are a physician, financial advice unless you are a qualified financial advisor, legal advice unless you are an attorney, or predict a death unless you are God.

Never leave a client with a “sore heart.”  The purpose of Spirit messages is to give uplifting guidance, not answers; to be kind and loving, not critical; and to bring through the highest and best that the Spirit side of life has to offer.

OPEN FLAMES, CANDLES, FIRES We have battery operated candles available.

SCENTS, AROMAS SMUDGING, DIFFUSERS, SPRAY OILS, INCENSE etc. Some attendees suffer from allergies as well as respiratory difficulties.  We use top of the line air filtration, which are costly to replace. Remember, smell is a subjective sense.

SOLICITATION If a customer requests your business information you are certainly free to give it to them, and if they desire they will find you on the internet. Do not pass around a sheet soliciting attendees contact information (phone numbers, email addresses, home addresses, or anything that would compromise their privacy). Events are meant to be solely educational and enriching, not network sessions for self-promotion. Blatant or aggressive advertising in an educational or enrichment setting alters the energy and direction of an event. We recommend you have a website, even if it is only a single page. If attendees like you and what you have to offer, they will Google your name and find you.

  1. Make the Most of your Event

Your Event has been booked at The Spirit University. The description and ticketing is live on our website and on our facebook page. TSU has advertised your Event in the media. What next?

The “If you build it, they will come” expression does not always apply to events, especially if you do not have a large local following. Much of what makes an event successful is what you do to promote it.

There are lots of ways to promote your event for free because you’re making use of resources like your website and social media channels, that you already have.

To assist you in promoting your Event, we’ve created a handy 8-point checklist:

  1. Invite your friends to your Event
  2. Add your Event to your website
  3. Update your Facebook cover photo and/or profile photo with your Event. Update your Twitter header image. Ask us to produce a photo or banner for you, featuring your Event.
  4. Share your Event on facebook or Twitter. Go to www.facebook.com/thespirituniversity/events and click on your Event. Then, click on the “Share” button below the top picture. You can invite selected facebook friends, share your Event on your “newsfeed” (facebook page), and even share your Event in a personal message. Be sure to click that you’re “Going” to your own Event!
  5. Send an email blast to your subscribers notifying them of your Campaign.
  6. Record yourself in a video inviting guests to your Event. Create a video inviting guests to your Event using your phone or facebook’s Live Video app. Share your video on facebook, Twitter, send to people you know by phone, or email the video to your contacts.
  7. What else can you do? Fliers. Design your flier to be easy to read, bold your Event title and anything else you feel is important to emphasize, take care not to overcrowd it with graphics, add the time and date of your Event, and don’t forget The Spirit University venue contact information (The Spirit University, 373 Braden Ave, Sarasota, FL 34243, 941-544-5874, www.TheSpiritU.com). Put the fliers where your targeted audience will notice them.
  8. Announce your Event at your local clubs or meet-up group.

Jointly we can generate participation at your Event that is greater than the sum of it parts. You and the TSU team share a common purpose.

Successful facilitators complement TSU’s efforts, funding and support by applying these 8 points in promoting their Event. Together we generate synergy through a coordinated effort.
