Carol Borsello

Carol Borsello is a lifelong reader, writer, and thoughtful observer of life’s many chapters. Having lived what she often describes as “several lives within one,” Carol brings a depth of lived experience to both her writing and her teaching.

After many years working in higher education at Vanderbilt University, Carol reached a pivotal moment in her early 60s and chose a different path, one guided by creativity, curiosity, and listening more closely to what felt true. Earlier in her life, she trained as a Massage Therapist and worked in healthcare, an experience that shaped her understanding of presence, care, and the importance of meeting people where they are.

Carol is the author of a travel memoir, a book of poetry, and a multi-volume collection drawn from her long-running blog. Her writing reflects a deep appreciation for language, story, and the small but meaningful moments that shape who we become. Her memoir, Riding the Light, chronicles a bold chapter of reinvention — living on the road with a van and an Akita, learning firsthand how plans evolve and how life often has ideas of its own.

As a facilitator, Carol offers a relaxed, supportive approach to both writing and speaking. She believes that meaningful communication doesn’t come from performance or perfection, but from comfort, clarity, and authenticity. In her classes, participants are encouraged to find their natural rhythm, trust their voice, and communicate in a way that feels genuine rather than forced.

Carol’s teaching style is practical, encouraging, and grounded in real experience, ideal for anyone who wants to speak or write with greater ease, confidence, and heart.
