Brandy Stark, PhD
Brandy Stark is the founder of SPIRITS of St. Petersburg, the Tampa Bay area’s longest-running paranormal investigation team, specializing in haunted history, local legends, and the supernatural.
Brandy holds three graduate degrees, including a PhD, with academic study spanning leadership, religious studies, humanities, and liberal studies. Throughout her academic career, she explored the role of ghosts, the supernatural, folklore, and the liminal in culture, eventually expanding her research into the haunted history, legends, and unexplained stories of the Tampa Bay area.
What began as academic research grew into community presentations, paranormal investigations, and the development of SPIRITS of St. Petersburg, which remains active today. Brandy has presented her research at conferences and throughout the community and continues to investigate the intersection of history, folklore, personal experience, and the unexplained.
She also leads ghost tours for Shadows in the Sunshine and Paradise Tours, is the author of Supernatural St. Petersburg and Paranormal Pinellas, most recently revised in 2021, and hosts Paranormal Pets on Pet Life Radio, exploring unusual and unexplained experiences involving animals.
Brandy brings a distinctive combination of academic research, local history, decades of paranormal experience, and genuine curiosity to her programs and investigations.
