Drawing from well over 10 years of certified NVC training with Nonviolent Communication developer Marshall Rosenberg & other CNVC trainers, Mercedes shares her understanding and deep passion for this process – particularly in social change with at-risk-youth as well as educators, nonprofits, prisons, and public service organizations. Mercedes has offered NVC skills to hundreds around Florida, including individuals, schools, organizations, and spiritual communities. She believes this valuable work is the key to hope and harmony for our future.Ms. Frace is a recognized regional NVC Practitioner in the Southeast U.S. and has been offering trainings in Nonviolent Communication for over 8 years throughout Florida, Michigan & southern Oregon. Mercedes been a catalyst for the NVC growth in Florida and has organized and assisted in numerous NVC events in Florida. Mercedes is the Director of Suncoast Network for Compassionate Communication, a CNVC Trainer Candidate with CNVC and in 2009 was selected by the global Center for Nonviolent Communication as their volunteer Communication Coordinator.
Mercedes was a participant in the globally renound 2-year NVC LIFE program from which she has a deeper understanding of this process as it relates to the spiritual underpinnings of NVC, “Living Energy of Needs” work, compassionate self-care, and living compassion. Mercedes also has been trained in facilitation of Restorative Circles practices by developer, Dominic Barter as well as Duke Duchscherer.
Remotely, Mercedes co-founded a homeschooling nonprofit in south Sarasota County in 2002, she is a founding member of the Peace Education & Action Center (501(c)(3), has been trained as a facilitator in Alternatives to Violence (AVP).
Although she was born & raised in Michigan, Mercedes has lived on the Gulf of Mexico in the Sarasota-area for 24 years now along with her daughter of 16 years. Mercedes continues to share Marshall’s Language of Life passionately and is writing her first book based on practicing nonviolence utilizing the skills of Compassionate Communication.
