• Spirituality of the Dementia Experience

The Spirit University 373 Braden Ave, Sarasota

The myriad of neuro-cognitive disorders like Alzheimer’s have made dementia a foremost concern worldwide. Progression of dementia alters the person’s perceptions of reality and leading to confusion and inability to carry out daily living. Eventually many individuals seem to withdraw into their own world and their relationships with family and friends disintegrate. Combining scientific and spiritual information creates a different understanding of what the person with dementia might actually be experiencing.  This presentation demonstrates the relationship between this information and how it associates to the dementia experience. With Katya DeLuisa. A demonstration and audience discussion follows. RSVP Now!

  • Healing Insights Collage Journal

The Spirit University 373 Braden Ave, Sarasota

The Healing Insights is a collage-illustrated journal of spontaneous writing: a subconscious streaming of words into poetry and story The images allow for creative expression of both conscious and subconscious thoughts, emotions and experiences. Pictures like dream images, are powerful personal symbolism pertaining to one's life. Combined with the automatic writing the journal becomes a creative expression of the life of its creator. It is a direct communication with one's own consciousness. This specially designed method of collage construction aids in quieting the analytical self. An interview of streaming unprompted questions and responses with the collage imagery creates a dialog with your subconscious self. A story spontaneously emerges from this interaction with your imagery. The significant aspects of your internal communication become apparent and you begin to access deep levels of creative consciousness. These processes enable the participant to reach deep levels of conscious awareness that facilitates self awareness and allows for healing to take place. • Access Intuition thru the Doodle Door

The Spirit University 373 Braden Ave, Sarasota

Unlock the power to memory retention, concentration, a higher vibration, and creative meditation Doodling often refers to the unconscious or unfocused drawings made while otherwise preoccupied. But that is not always the case. Doodling may become a purposeful action instead of mindlessness. Doodlers in art therapy often find self-soothing in their mark-making, returning again and again to enjoyable and pleasing patterns. There is research that indicates that doodling is helpful in memory retention. It may help us concentrate because it prevents our minds from wandering. Doodling is not just a way to “think differently;” it’s a way to “explore differently,” too. Using the focus of your creative side, delve into the use of designs and patterns to open your mind to a higher vibration and meditation. With Barbara Harrison. RSVP Now!
